Easter Monday

Easter Monday, known as *Śmigus-Dyngus* or "Wet Monday," is a lively and unique holiday celebrated in Poland the day after Easter Sunday. Rooted in both Christian and pagan traditions, it is a day filled with fun, water fights, and playful pranks. Traditionally, boys and men splash water on girls and women, a custom believed to bring good luck, health, and fertility. In modern times, the water fights have become more inclusive, with everyone joining in the playful chaos. Families also gather for festive meals, often featuring leftover Easter dishes like *żurek* (sour rye soup) and *babka* (Easter cake).
